The Chillionaires have found their way to Photobombshell Media and today we are happy to introduce you to another Chillionaire lifestyle lover, Rich Banx. Rich is a multifaceted artist who writes and produces his own music, creates without concern about oversaturation in the NYC music market, and is riding his own wave. In this interview, he breaks down his approach to layered meanings in his music, gives some insight into his project, “Docile,” and shares his plans for 2024, which may surprise a few readers. Let’s get into it!
Rich Banx’s Brooklyn Origins
Photobombshell: Welcome to Photobombshell Media and our independent music community! Rich Banx! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. Share a little about where you are from and how you describe your sound.
Rich Banx: I’m from Brooklyn, New York, and I would say my sound is a mix of rapping my ass off with some melodic flows and melodies thrown in. It’s different, but familiar, if that makes sense. I got a little something for everyone.
Photobombshell: Who are your major influences? Do you add any tributes or nods to them in your music?
Rich Banx: Growing up, I listened to a lot of different music, so I don’t have a specific person in mind. However, I can say there have been artists that have affected my music.
Chillionaire Lifestyle
Photobombshell: Speaking of people who have affected your music, talk to me about the “Chillionaires.” I see and hear a lot about them on social media, and we’ve even chatted about the collective in past interviews, but share your point of view and explanation.
Rich Banx: The Chillionaires is a coalition. We are a family. We’re all separate artists in our own right, but together, we’re a brand and a movement. Being a Chillionaire is a lifestyle.

Writing and Recording with Rich Banx
Photobombshell: Being an artist in your own right, you write and record your music. How did your journey into music unfold, leading you to where you are now?
Rich Banx: Yeah, I record myself. It all depends. I might go to a studio, depending on whether I’m working alone or with other artists. As an artist, I write my music, too. I’ve been recording music since I was about 13. Yeah, I always have loved music and knew it was something I would end up doing.
About “Docile”
Photobombshell: Talk to us about your latest project, “Docile.” What was the inspiration for the album?
Rich Banx: Life was a big inspiration for this project, I would say. Subtle lyrics hold hidden meanings, only known to those present or familiar with the references.
Photobombshell: I think that’s fairly common. Individuals connect with what resonates, yet artists hold exclusive understandings. What project or song of yours, from your entire catalog, do you feel best represents you as an artist? Why?
Rich Banx: That’s a great question, and it’s super hard to answer because I feel every piece of music I give has a little something of me in it. If I had to, I would say my latest project, “Docile.” The project is more raw and represents where I am as an artist.
Standing Out in New York
Photobombshell: As a New Yorker, and specifically a Brooklyn artist, it’s a battlefield out there to stand out. What makes you special?
Rich Banx: I think what makes me stand out is that I’m not making the same type of music most of my peers are. I have a unique sound and flows. My lyrical content isn’t the same either. I’m trying to make music, not just rap.

Independent Challenges
Photobombshell: I love how you say you’re trying to “make music, not just rap.” That’s the special sauce, right there. What is the greatest challenge you’ve had to overcome as an independent artist?
Rich Banx: The biggest challenge has been getting the right eyes on me. Proper promotion and management.
Collaborations and Style
Photobombshell: I think a lot of your fellow independent artists can relate to that sentiment and challenge. If you could collaborate with any artist currently living, who would it be and why? What type of project would you work on?
Rich Banx: I’d take the Drake feature, no questions asked. He’s one of the biggest and best artists in the world. A feature from Drake makes a nobody, somebody, instantly. We’ve seen it happen in the past. The project would be something melodic or something to get people dancing, like some Caribbean/island vibes.
Rich Banx in 2024
Photobombshell: What plans do you have for the rest of 2024?
Rich Banx: Soon, I’ll be recording for a new project that I have in the works. I have a name for the project, “CodeName: Banx” and a vibe I’m going for, but more updates will come as I have them. I’m also in a short film called “DNA,” anticipated to be released later this year. Follow me on Instagram. I’m down to work with other artists as long as it makes sense for both parties.
